Golf courses serving the Brighton area

West Hove Golf Club

Badgers Way, Hove BN3 8EX, UK – 01273 419738

Played this course 8 weeks into a drought, the fairways were dry but playable, the greens superb. The members first rate, and the food was as good as it gets on a golf day... congrats to all associated with West Hove....an excellent venue...

I didn't play today but I found the information very forthcoming and welcoming. The facilities were good and I will certainly be playing a round soon.

Benfield Valley Footgolf

Hangleton Ln, Hove BN3 8EB, UK – 01273 761001

This former golf course has now been made into a footgolf course! A great group activity day out for all ages and abilities. Reasonably priced. The guy who runs the business is very friendly, chatty and enthusiastic. Great for a dry weather day.

NOW A FOOTGOLF COURSE AND FANTASTIC!

Crazy Golf

3 Madeira Dr, Brighton BN2 1PS, UK

What's not to like. Loads of fun and fresh sea air. Right on the beach. Refreshments and parking nearby. Well maintained course.

Quirky, retro style golf course.

Nearest Gyms

The Gym Brighton London Road

94 London Rd, Brighton BN1 4JF, UK – 0330 055 3728

This has great equipment, I especially love the virtual cycle machines. Lots of equipment to go around, even at peak times here is no waiting to jump onto a machine! Very clean and fresh and the manager and the staff there is really friendly, helpful and nice!

Reasonably well-equipped, but the place stinks! Lack of cleaning sprays/paper towels so equipment is often a bit gross. Too humid/warm as well...and too busy.

The Gym Brighton Madeira Drive

9 Madeira Drive, The Terraces, Brighton BN2 1AY, UK – 0330 056 3913

Great selection of equipment for cardio and muscle gain/toning. The ability to go 24/7 allows for a large flexibility to attend dependant on people's schedules

The gym is clean, the machines are relatively easy to use and the views during the day are beautiful and inspiring. I was given an induction as a new membmer and I found there are interesting, free classes to take too. I also enjoyed the website experience and the joining process. However, I found their copy about bringing friends was incomplete and unclear. It could definitely be improved. The prices are reasonable and down to earth for the overall experience. I am looking forward to daily trainging there!

CHANGE

1, Portland Road Trading Estate, Portland Rd, Hove BN3 5NT, UK – 01273 415515

The gym is decent sized and the e-gym is great for beginners and elderly people. The staff are very kind, helpful and approachable. the equipment is ok, and the size is not bad either. It really depends on what you're looking for in a gym. I personally go to the gym to body build and feel that the music is way too quiet and to be quite frank, bad 75% of the time. That obviously depends on what kind of music you like but when i go to the gym i expect to be motivated by the music and here it doesn't do that at all Furthermore when i joined i was led to believe that there was further training space outside and in an almost garage like room, which was really nice for the few months it lasted but now it has been reserved for classes/PT?? don't think that's very professional IMO £30 is quite expensive in my opinion. I've been to gyms which offer more for just £20. You also have to pay £30 extra once a year to help improve the gym? i think?? but so far nothing has really changed since i joined except that outdoor bit which got nice new equipment but is only available to PT and classes? Will have to wait and see i guess... The main downside to this gym is the opening hours which, sorry to say, are terrible. They close at 8 o'clock on Friday and 5 o'clock on weekends! Not sure why that is? there are many people who want to train later in the evening and compared to all the gym's I've ever been to, this has the most restricted opening hours. Hope this has helped...

Great Gym, nice and clean lots of equipment but quite compact, i love the layout it really works for my style of workout. Friendly staff and some great extras in place such as e gym and change pt

Good variety of activities are offered here. The last two times I've been the pool was a bit cool. There's uni sex changing rooms and lockers are £1 which you get back at the end.

Use this venue a lot for a swim always find it clean and staff are friendly . The water is at a lovely temperature. Also find people using facility are friendly and pleasant too. Great venue for all ages

Prince Regent Swimming Complex

Church St, Brighton BN1 1YA, UK – 01273 685692

It's pretty good, they have a sauna and a steam room which is an unexpected bonus. The pool is quite cool so when you first get in it's a ilbit chilly. Gym is somewhat small, but they have everything you need.

Left my phone at the pool. The staff retrieved it quickly. This is why I love Prince regent pool, the staff are great. Sure the showers might be cold occasionally. It might be busy at 530. But that's forgotten when you hit the water. They're also really passionate about teaching kids and adults to swim too. Ive been coming for nearly 14 years, and don't think I'll ever stop.....
