The Little Fish Market

10 Upper Market St, Hove BN3 1AS, UK – 01273 722213

A fantastic fish restaurant. Great, creative set menu which focuses on fresh local fish. Also have well chosen wine pairings for each dish on the menu. Relaxed atmosphere with really outstanding service, I look forward to coming back!

Beautifully presented food. Top quality ingredients. Varied wine list. Amazingly elegant service. This night was an experience, so much more than just a meal. Highly recommend getting a coffee!

Tookta's Thai Food

30 Spring St, Brighton BN1 3EF, UK – 01273 748071

Food was very fresh and well presented. The taste was amazing. One of the best Thai meals I have had in a long while. Make sure you call ahead a few nights in advance as the place is small, so you may not get seated if you just walk in.

Great place for Thai food. There is a bit of a wait for miains, so you may want to order starters if you want to snooze that initial hunger. The food is definitely worth the wait as the cuisine is fresh and full of flavour a real taste of Thailand. The word has spread quickly so it's worth booking or coming before peak.

Jack & Linda Mills Traditional Fish Smokers

Kings Road Arches, Brighton BN1 1NB, UK – 01273 723064

A great little place on the seafront that serves great food. It’s simple which is great as the fresh fish on offer is all the flavour you need and it’s all freshly prepared by the really friendly and welcoming couple that run the business. I’ve lost count of he number of visits I’ve made but every time it is excellent.

Fantastic place. Family owned. Full of delicious, fresh, tasty, fun food. Ideal for picnics on the beach, yards away, or sit at one of their outside tables. If you love fish, then this is for you. Easy access.

Best Reviewed Indian Restaurants and Takeaways in Brighton or in Brighton area

Curry Leaf Cafe – Brighton Lanes

60 Ship St, Brighton BN1 1AE, UK – 01273 207070

It is one of a new generation of gourmet Indian restaurants. It never ceases to impress me with its small but interesting menu. You won't find a list of fifty curries so you can order the one you always have after a beer. There are half a dozen creations that always impress, ask the staff and they are happy to advise you. Great staff, pleasant surroundings and amazing tastes. Try it and enjoy.

3 stars for me. I stay in Sutton and have had really good Indian food locally. So maybe for Brighton standards the food is excellent but for me and my fellow Indian friends it was just ok. Everything was boiled / cooked well so no fault there so it was just the lack of flavour overall that disappointed us. Maybe our expectations were high so let us not put you off in any way. I would suggest you try it yourself & come to a conclusion.

Bombay Aloo

39 Ship St, Brighton BN1 1AB, UK – 01273 776038

Now almost 100% vegan - woohoo! This place is a legendary all you can eat Indian buffet restaurant. Never had a bad experience here (not even including the time I went there and an army of bloody Morris dancers were in there eating). Super cheap, fill ya face, job done.

It wasn't good or bad. Nice setting, friendly staff. But not much in the way of selection but more than worth it if you have seconds.

Planet India Brighton

4 Richmond Parade, Brighton BN2 9PH, UK – 01273 818149

If you are vegan or vegetarian and you like spicy and Indian food than the place is definitely for you. Go for two halves as you will get more this way, you will see what I mean ;) The selection of alcoholic drinks is interesting as well but be careful not to develop the "Dog responses of Pavlov" ;)

Very friendly, really warming vibes and family run restaurant with great food at very reasonable prices!! Love it so much here!

Best Reviewed Italian Pasta and Pizza Restaurants

ASK Italian

58 Ship St, Brighton BN1 1AF, UK – 01273 918376

Really friendly staff, who couldn't do more to help. Greeted straight away and Frederick a choice of where we would like to be seated. Outside area was lovely. Asked what we'd like to drink very quickly, but left alone long enough to make a choice of food. Very accomodating to our little one, made sure she was provided with colouring pack and her own menu. Kids menu is superb value, adults one is much the same as all pizza places, but pleasant enough. We had a very nice lunch!

The reataurant is in a really cute little building that looks a lot like a house. I loved the look and layout. They have a reasonably sized garden where you can eat when the sun is out. The food tasted very good, I always make an effort to try something new and I always like it. For the quality of the food the price seemed okay.

Jamie's Italian Brighton

11 Black Lion St, Brighton BN1 1ND, UK – 01273 915480

My favourite restaurant in Brighton and, yes, we've tried a few! I can't understand the poor reviews. We've eaten at many JI and they have all been great. This is our favourite. The staff are fantastic, the atmosphere is great, the food is very tasty, portions are fine (I feel that so much has been super sized that we've forgotten what is a normal sized portion) and the price reflects the standard of food and service. My only criticism is that I can't bear Karma Cola!!!

Food was fabulous. I have to eat gluten free and the waitress took her time to explain all the options that were available to me. Very impressed. The swordfish steak special was awesome

Pinocchio

22 New Rd, Brighton BN1 1UF, UK – 01273 677676

Great food at affordable prices with fast service. Pick from pasta to steak and home made pizza. Good seating with a upstairs and you can sit at pavement tables when it is warm. Would recommend booking if fri or sat night

We come to Pinocchios for our annual Family Christmas dinner and they never disappoint. It may be very busy but the service is quick in the food tasty. Highly recommend the salad bar and cocktails!

All Bar One Brighton

2-3, pavilion buildings, Brighton BN1 1EE, UK – 01273 207593

Eaten and drank here twice now. Food and drink excellent. Great seating, decor and great friendly staff. More food than we could eat - but oh so good. Probably end up here again before we finish our holiday.

Love it love it love it.. Amazing choice of food and drinks well worth a visit..

Plateau

1 Bartholomews, Brighton BN1 1HG, UK – 01273 733085

Great, laidback Brighton restaurant in a central part of town. Pretty small, loads of atmosphere especially at night, decent value too - not especially cheap but not expensive for the experience. Excellent cocktail and wine list, plenty do interesting food with many different influences, from small plates to mains. Service is really good, on it but not in your face. Real mix of diners adds to the charm. Overall if you're in Brighton in a group of 2-4 this is a cracking place to come.

I really liked Plateau - I had a two-course set menu lunch. The courgette starter I would pass on, but the flat iron steak was superb. A wine place, but did have a very good beer list too if that is your thing.

Brighton Chinese Restaurants

Danny's Restaurant

179 Portland Rd, Hove BN3 5QJ, UK – 01273 728782

Went for a meal today with my son and wife. What a fantastic place! Great service and really delicious food; effectively Chinese tapas as the portions served were small and freshly cooked to order. Given that you can order as much as you like this meant that we managed to eat a variety of starters, crispy Peking duck and two batches of mains before we waddled out of the restaurant with our stomachs bursting. The only slight sting is that there is no beer on tap so, because of our greed, we spent as much on bottled beer as for the actual food. Can’t wait until we go again!

Cant complain. Good food made fresh and quickly. All you can eat at a great price. Only thing I would say is sometimes the ribs can be quite fatty. Friendly and funny staff. Thank you

Good Friends

24-25 Preston St, Brighton BN1 2HN, UK – 01273 779836

They are welcome to serve until late, what can you ask for when your misses is hungry, honestly good food but not cheap cheap.

Was a nice meal and had lots of Asians in there. I always think that is a good sign.

China China

33 - 35 Preston St, Brighton BN1 2HP, UK – 01273 328028

Now called Ho Chiak. We always eat this place when we visit Brighton. Spacious, baby facilities, self condiment service and free water. Very fair prices with no service charge. They only accept cash though.

I had udon noodles with mixed seafood and me friend tasty duck with rice, tasted good and service was friendly. Very reasonably priced. I would repeat.

Brighton Vegetarian or Vegan Restaurants

Food for Friends

Food for Friends, 17-18 Prince Albert St, Brighton BN1 1HF, UK – 01273 202310

Book! This place fills up quickly and that alone creates a buzz. I really loved what I had here. Delicious curry for a main and a tofu dish to start. There is a great choice and all vegetarian, fantastic! Recommended.

Amazing food and definitely worth the price. All the staff are really friendly and helpful, amazing customer service and really quick food service too. Probably worth booking ahead on busy days (Fri-Sun). Overall it's just amazing there and just because it's a vegetarian/vegan restaurant doesn't mean it should be disregarded by meat eaters either as the food is of such good quality

Foodilic - Western Road

163 Western Rd, Brighton BN1 2BB, UK – 01273 760190

Ate here today and the food was superb great quality and generous portions. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely enjoyable food. You aren't hurried out you can take your time . Lovely atmosphere . Highly recommend

Had a wonderful coffee and a melting cake! Superb taste. I recommend any coffee lover to have a cappuccino here.

Loving Hut Brighton North Laines

48 Gardner St, Brighton BN1 1UN, UK – 01273 623977

Food is fab! ☺ All vegan. Some gluten free options too. Expensive though 😔 Love the shakes and Loving Hut burger. Free drinking water. Based in City hub. Dine in or take away. Well worth checking out.

I come here most Sundays before a gaming session. I love the shakes - you must try the biscoff shake! All the food is carefully prepared, & the staff will make adjustments to the recipes to accommodate dietary requirements. The staff are amazingly friendly - I would thoroughly recommend a visit

East Street Tap

74 East St, Brighton BN1 1HQ, UK – 01273 777505

Came across this bar at 1:30 in the morning,. A really nice vibe. A good mix of people. They were playing good contemporary rock but not so loud that you have to shout. They also have a good selection of beer and the upstairs room is cool. They serve food but I didn't try it. The people who work there are really friendly and chilled out.

In Brighton for the weekend, and after bar hopping on the first night to see what the city had to offer, decided this was the best of the best and spent the next two nights here. The bar staff is so lovely, every one of them. And the music is ACTUALLY GOOD (a fun change of pace) Mia and Joe totally rock as bartenders, if they’re there, you’ll have a fantastic night!

The Mesmerist

1-3 Prince Albert St, Brighton BN1 1HE, UK – 01273 328542

I have been here twice. Once on a busy Saturday evening and another on a more chilled out live music night. Both really good evenings. The cocktails were lovely and the service was very quick despite the place being very busy.

Nice bar with a stage area. Visited it as part of the Alternative Escape on the Great Escape festival weekend and got to see some great bands including ARCAVES. Drinks weren’t the cheapest but the atmosphere more than made up for that. Would visit again.

Walkabout

79 West St, Brighton BN1 2RA, UK – 01273 256720

Nice place to go for a drink, £2 pints if you've got a student card. Recently been renovated and looks quite nice with a sort of surfery vibe to it. Good deals on food, pool table and you can see a TV from almost any seat in the place. Great for sport events. Nights it turns to a pseudo club and can be hit or miss.

Depends what you want from a bar. I visited this place with some friends to watch a football game. For that reason, it was excellent. Lots of space, loads of screens, and great audio! Good selection of drinks and what seemed like standard pub fayre food.
